CO- CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES (2025-26)

SUBJECT: SCIENCE

Cocurricular activities are an important part of curriculum that allows children to develop specific skills or demonstrate their non-academic abilities. They are meant to develop social. Skills moral values personality and character appeal in students. The Science club SPECTRUM had organised an array of activities for various classes from 1st to 10th standard. Conducted in the month of JUNE.

I std Students took part in colouring and drawing Trees.

II Std students did beautiful models on Healthy Vs Junk food.

III std students created a beautiful flower vase.

IV std students using bits of coloured paper created a beautiful collage of butterfly

V std students depicted the habitat of animals in an album form

VI std students made a chart on healthy diet emphasising the significance of nutrition

VII std students created models of Simple machines using locally available materials

VIII std students performed a Role play on a Microbes

IX std enthusiastically participated in a written Science Quiz

X std students showcased their scientific skills by creating models based on Newton’s laws of Motion.

The activities were truly complementing academics and foster holistic development

II LANGUAGE CLUB ACTIVITIES (2025-2026)

The Kannada Club–Sahithyothsava successfully organized a diverse set of competitions for students from class I to X std on October 16,17 and 18th respectively. This year various competitions were successfully organized for the students of classes I to X in Kannada extracurricular activities. All the activities were planned with priority given to children’s language skills such as reading, writing, speaking and creative thinking through activities. Students of all classes participated enthusiastically and showcased their dynamism, creativity, acting, dance and speaking skills.

Opportunities for talent and skill development were provided through various competitions for primary, secondary and high school students.  Kannada Rhymes singing, Poetry memorization, Panchatantra story Telling, Moral storytelling, costume contest, quiz competition, dance competitions and Social humorous plays…. etc. were organized. Through these competitions students were allowed to develop speaking skills, language development and acting skills. Students were encouraged to develop cooperative spirit, group activities and interest in Kannada language. 

Overall, the students were encouraged to participate in various extra-curricular activities conducted by the Kannada Club in the month of October. The winners of the competitions were given an opportunity to display their talent in the Kannada Rajyotsava program in November.

Hindi Club conducted Monoacting and the Sanskrit Club conducted Drama for class 10 students

SUBJECT : SOCIAL SCIENCE

Co-curricular activities are meant to bring social skills, intellectual skills, moral values, personality , progress and character appeal in students. It helps in the social, emotional development of a child and teach them important life skills like team work. Communication and leadership also helps in improving a child’s self-confident and decision making abilities.

Social science activities conducted on 30-8-2025 was organised with the objective of making social science education engaged and experiential for students of grade 3 to 10.

Students from class 3 located the states and their capitals on the map of India which enhanced their memory skills. Class 4 actively took part in locating physical features of India and make it colourful. Class 5 participated in Essay writing on freedom fighters which helped them to learn and implement the values taught by our leaders.

Students from Class 6 were given to make the model of Solar system which enhances the critical thinking. Class 7 actively took part in Elocution where their speaking skills were judged. Class 8 had quiz competition. Class 9 students made collage on Heritage of India. Students from Class 10 were assigned to make an album on Nationalism in India. This activity develops cognitive, affective skills, harmonious and diverse values among the students.

Conclusion :

The Social science CCA proved to be an effective tool in bringing social science education to life. It engaged students in experiential learning, aligning with NEP’s emphasis on holistic and interactive education.

ENGLISH CLUB (Reading Rockets) ACTIVITIES-OCTOBER 2025

The English Club–Reading Rockets successfully organized a diverse set of competitions for students from class I to X std on October 30 and 31st respectively. All the events were thoughtfully planned to enhance core language skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. Students from every class participated with great enthusiasm, displaying creativity, confidence, and strong communication abilities.

Across the primary, middle and secondary sections, the competitions provided meaningful platforms for self-expression and skill development. Activities like story narration, pick and speak, word hunt, Brochure making, pick and composition, collage work, poster making, advertisement creation and poem analysis, and poem composition helped students improve articulation, Imagination, vocabulary, creativity comprehension and presentation skills. The programme fostered peer learning, encouraged team work and strengthen students’ interest in the English Language.

Overall, the initiatives of the English Club during the month were highly effective and impactful, enriching students’ language learning experience and motivating them to explore and appreciate English in diverse and engaging way.

SUBJECT: MATHEMATICS

The Mathematics Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)conducted from 23-7-2025 to 25-7-2025 during this academic year were designed to enhance students’ mathematical aptitude, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. The activities were planned to provide meaningful learning experiences beyond the regular curriculum while fostering enthusiasm for mathematics.

To promote innovative and creative approaches to mathematical concepts. To identify and support students with exceptional mathematical potential. Activities Conducted

Mathematical Model Presentation

Students prepared and presented models demonstrating concepts such as 3- dimensional shapes, angles of elevation and angles of depression The activity helped integrate theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning.

Mathematics and Art Integration Activity

Creative activities involving tessellations, tangrams, and geometric patterns were conducted to highlight the aesthetic aspects of mathematics.

Outcomes
Enhanced student engagement and active participation. Improved problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
Increased interest in mathematics through experiential learning. Development of teamwork and cooperation among students. Conclusion

The Mathematics CCA for this year was conducted successfully and met its intended objectives. The activities provided students with enriching opportunities to apply mathematical concepts in diverse and creative ways. The overall response from students was highly positive, and the programme contributed significantly to fostering a deeper appreciation for the subject.

SUBJECT: ART AND CRAFT

Art and Craft activities play a vital role in nurturing creative thinking and self-expression among students. During the academic year 2025–26, the Art & Craft Club organized a variety of hands-on activities for Classes I to X, encouraging children to explore colours, patterns, textures, and different art forms.

The Art CCA was conducted on 07/11/2025 (Friday) for Classes I to IX and on 01/12/2025 (Monday) for Class X. Students participated with great interest and enthusiasm, producing artwork that reflected imagination, skill, and originality.

Class I

Students engaged in Creative Drawing and Coloring based on themes such as Nature, Festivals, and Village Scenes, using colour pencils and crayons.

Class II

Students explored Origami Art (Paper Folding) where they created 5 types of objects, 2 flowers, and 3 creatures using colourful origami sheets.

Class III

Students participated in Thumb Printing / Blow Painting and illustrated Land or Water Creatures using poster colours.

Class IV

Students attempted Memory Drawing based on a Visit to the Zoo, drawing and colouring animals using colour pencils and crayons.

Class V

Students practiced Pencil Shading and created sketches depicting Village Scenes or Mountain Scenery.

Class VI

Students created Symmetrical Designs through on-spot drawing using poster or water colours.

Class VII

Students decorated vases in Vase Painting Work using themes such as Warli Art, Madhubani, Mandala patterns, floral motifs, and marine life.

Class VIII

Students created Glass Paintings on transparent sheets or glass pieces based on themes like Underwater World, Garden of Joy, and Seasons of Nature.

Class IX

Students designed and painted Handmade Paper Folders under themes such as Floral Fantasy, Go Green, and Nature’s Beauty.

Class X
Students painted expressive Landscape Art on A3 sheets using poster or water colours.

The Art & Craft activities for the year were a wonderful platform for students to express themselves creatively and develop artistic confidence.
