Yoga is now widely recognized as a means to achieve and maintain physical fitness and health. Yoga, however, is not just a form of physical exercise, to be practiced for a few minutes every day.

Yoga is a lifestyle and approach to positivity which seeks to enlighten the spirit and attune body and mind.

It is a holistic discipline which leads to a healthy state of mind, robust body and complete well-being of an individual.

Yoga is a way of life that entails simplicity, honesty, compassion, and respect for all creatures and nature. It is a lifestyle based on non-violence at every level – in thoughts, feelings, words and actions.

On the occasion of INTERNATIONAL Yoga Day, students of our school gave an impressive demonstration of the various asanas. Our school celebrated International Yoga Day in our premises by organising a special yoga session in which the student sand teachers along with Principal Madam performed various asanas with the sole aim of raising awareness and igniting a passion for fitness and yoga among the students. First our principal mam was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers along with wishes for fitness. Our yoga teacher instructed the students to perform various asanas and explained the benefits of Yoga. Our 5 TH D Std student Vrushanka gave the significance of the day.

Yoga can dispel stress, tension, fear etc if practised on a regular basis. Principal madam, in her address, emphasised that yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied and alsourged the children to practise yoga which will help create overall harmony of body and mind. Children were motivated to make yoga an important part of their daily routine.

We need to avoid reckless exploitation of nature and excessive consumption. Sustainability has to be the new mantra. ‘Balance’ is at the heart of sustainability. And that ‘balance’ in all spheres starting with physical well – being is what yoga is all about. Our children came to be familiar with the Yoga and the benefits of undertaking it.

The little words in the Republic of Letters, like the little folks in the nation, are the most useful and significant.
